    Cannabis (Software)

  • Familiarity with the basic types of cannabis management software (CMS) platforms, such as point-of-sale (POS) – generally focused on sales of cannabis products at the retail level) – and seed-to-sale (STS) – tracks all aspects of cannabis production, from planting through the sale of each plant or cannabis product.

  • Research, testing, use, recommendation, specification and procurement of various integrated – POS combined with STS – CMS platforms, such as Ample Organics, BioTrackTHC, MJ Platform, Proteus420, Yobi.

  • Research, testing, use, recommendation, specification and procurement of various ancillary CMS platforms, such as  Fyllo (for compliance and media issues related to highly-regulated industries, such as cannabis production) and WasteTrakr (monitors and tracks the movement of cannabis and hemp waste to a landfill, recycling, or repurposing facility).

  • Research, testing, use, recommendation, specification and procurement of various POS CMS platforms, such as Cova POS, Dispensary POS, EntCart, FlowHub, Green Bits, Greenline POS, GroFlow, Stemless, Fort, IndicaOnline, IQ POS, LeafLogix, Leaf Trade, Meadow, Merrco, Treez, wbjoint retail software suite.

  • POS CMS platforms generally collect payments, maintain accurate tax records, track customers in an integrated database and track inventory, and are typically used by personnel at retail cannabis to complete each transaction and provide regulatory reporting requirements.

  • POS CMS platforms can be integrated with accounting software platforms and retail management platforms, as well as hardware such as barcode readers, credit card scanners, smart phones, receipt printers, for more efficient inventory management.

  • POS CMS platforms may include additional functionalities, such as accounting, employee management features, inventory management, as well as more-specialized functionalities, such as prescription management.

  • Research, testing, use, recommendation, specification and procurement of various STS CMS platforms, such as 4S, AirMed Cloud, Artemis Overview, Baker Platform, Canix, Chetu Seed-to-Sale, Cultivera Pro, Dauntless, Distru, FloEnvy, Flourish Software, GrowerIQ, InstaGMO TNT, Silver Leaf CBC, SYSPRO Cannabis Software, Trellis, Trym, Viridian Sciences.

  • STS tracking is mandatory in most states that allow any form of cannabis use, to provide quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) verification of every cannabis product sold at the retail level.

  • STS CMS platforms are able to track individual cannabis plants (both hemp and marijuana) through the entire life cycle of each individual plant, during every phase of production from the initial growth stages through to their sale to the end customer as a processed product at a dispensary.

  • STS CMS platforms may have a greater ability to integrate with more accounting software platforms and retail management platforms, as well as more types of hardware such as barcode readers, cash drawers, credit card scanners, quick-response (QR) code generators and readers, radio-frequency identification (RFID) readers, scales, sensors, smart phones, receipt printers, for more efficient inventory management.

  • STS CMS platforms track individual plant data within each stage of the life cycle and thus may be used to optimize future crop growth, by comparing the popularity of particular cannabis products prepared using elements of particular plants to predict what particular plants may be required to accommodate future sales of popular cannabis products.

  • Both POS and STS CMS platforms generally also include delivery tracking functionality, so dispensaries may automate shipping manifests, find the best delivery routes, manage inventory and provide regulatory reporting requirements.
