  • Procurement, management and claims resolution for air cargo, air transport, inland and ocean marine lines, such as air transit, commercial hull, commercial wet marine, longshore insurance, maritime programs, ocean cargo, ocean marine, spoilage.

 

  • Procurement, management and claims resolution for commercial transportation liability, including excess, fleet trucking, general liability, motor truck cargo, and physical damage and review and drafting for domestic commercial auto policies, with a focus on fleets.

 

  • Developed, implemented and monitors the legal aspects of loss control programs, concentrating on reduction of frequency and severity of claims for transportation-related accounts, fleet-related and auto-related exposures.

 

  • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) for the legal aspects of transportation and fleet casualty risk exposures and controls, transportation regulations, safety technologies and systems, and consultation for Specialty Auto Division, large commercial accounts.

 

  • Procurement, management and claims resolution for all construction-related insurance, surety, bonds and risk management.

 

  • Procurement, management and claims resolution for construction-related lines, such as Auto Liability, Builder Risk, General Liability, Employers Liability, Excess, Inland Marine, Professional Liability, Railroad, Site Pollution, Surplus, Umbrella, Workers’ Compensation.

 

  • Identification of labor-related risks and provided consultation regarding general labor, non-union and union issues.

 

  • Procurement, management and claims resolution for environmental insurance lines and classes, such as asbestos, chemical risks, commercial general liability, contractors environmental liability, environmental impairment liability (EIL), environmental general liability exposures, employers liability, excess over primary, herbicides, package auto liability, pesticides, premises pollution, professional liability, pollution legal liability (PLL), storage tank and transmission liability, toxic tort.

 

  • Reviews environmental due diligence, including Phase I and Phase II, to identify cases of non-compliance with ASTM E1527-13 and Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) regulations and non-conformance for existing and proposed facilities.

 

  • Ensures compliance with the “innocent landowner” defense under CERCLA regulations.

 

  • Ensures compliance with local, state and federal wetland regulations.

 

  • Supports compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA) Lead standard – 1910.1025 and Asbestos standard – 1910.1001.

 

  • Legal support for identification and proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, such as asbestos, contaminated groundwater, lead, mold, soil, for compliance with waste regulations such as the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and worker health and safety.

 

  • Legal support for obtaining and maintaining environmental permits and certificates.

 

  • Legal support for the review and implementation of materials management plans and health and safety plans.

 

  • Works with outside counsel to have Phase II reports ordered and then ensured that the appropriate actions were taken to reduce the environmental liability and conducts environmental liability training sessions.

 

  • Maintains and tracks the environmental impact statement (EIS) processes for domestic projects, and the environmental effectiveness statement (EES) for international projects.

 

  • Ensures compliance with both internal corporate governance policies regarding environmental issues and applicable federal and state laws and regulations, including Department of Transportation (DOT), New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJ DEP) and the New York City Business Integrity Commission (NYC BIC) regulations.

 

  • Procurement, management and claims resolution for package capabilities including automobile, boiler and machinery, environmental, inland marine, intellectual property, life sciences, management risk, pharmaceuticals, preclinical research, property, workers’.

 

  • Procurement, management and claims resolution for personal insurance products such as homeowners insurance.

 

  • Legal support for the design, implementation and maintenance of personal lines homeowners.

 

  • Procurement, management and claims resolution for professional liability lines (such as allied healthcare and medical malpractice) and errors & omissions (E&O) lines (such as accountants, architects, brokers, charities, construction, consultants, craft-trade, directors & officers, engineers, financial services, general contractors, information technologies, insurance agents, media & entertainment, nonprofits).

 

  • Procurement, management and claims resolution for property & casualty (P&C) loss control lines, safety surveys, training and technical support.

 

  • Developed and implemented a corporate P&C loss control training program.
